Snark aside, there's League of Legends. My laptop can run it just fine until at times the CPU decides to shit on my framerate, but that's more my problem than yours. And there is technically shooting for some of the champs, so yeah, counts.
Mega Man 8-Bit Death Match is free, and being an old school DOOM style game, very easy to run. Pretty sure you can play with others, but I haven't the slightest idea how to since I've never done it, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.
Battlefield 1942 was recently made free through the Origin service. It's an old game, so chances are we can both run it.
Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun is free. That may have some online capability.
There's a few Steam games that are free and multiplayer and easy to run. None I know off the top of my head.
Emulators are an option, for the ones that have network play.
Annnnnd that's all I know.

So, steam apparently has given me Left 4 Dead, Killing Floor and a Sonic racing game for some days. Do you play any of these?

My favorite character of resident evil is Leon because all I have seen from the whole series is that movie degenaration.

Well I have tried playing that game with Leon where he first gets in a house and realizes that the owner is infected/whateva. I couldn't figure out how to shoot the motherfucker so I left the game. Yeah, I used to give up too easily.

The trick to shooting people in that game is to aim first, lol. Which was most likely one of the right triggers, and shoot was the main face-button (A, X, whatever console).
